ABI’s Implantable Devices Group is developing novel MEMs pressure sensors. These images show three views of sensor performance – at best they should be identical. The lefthand image is a beautiful mistake generated when computer-aided modelling software interpolated spurious data. The centre image represents a model result that can be used to predict sensor performance. The righthand image represents a necessary view of reality: measured surface-shape data that is non-ideal and a challenge to interpret.
