Microscopy is amazing!
Pelvic floor muscles are intimately involved in the birth process, and the strain of these muscles during delivery of the fetal head is considerable.
The aim of my project was to characterise the muscle bone interface using differential interference contrast microscopy. This technique produced images that allow a comprehensive analysis of the structure of this interface.
