The cell structure of bamboo skewers makes a good test object for checking MicroCT image quality, as there is good contrast and fine details.
This artistic rendition of 3D visualisation illustrates that perspective can change how samples appear. In this instance, the perspective is wildly distorted, as the original sample was a bunch of skewers parallel to each other. It is the same effect seen when using a wide angle or telephoto camera lenses.
