Many important biological structures, including lung airways and blood circulation systems, are effectively networks of bifurcating vessels, where larger vessels repeatedly split into two smaller vessels to fill the space of an organ or body. This picture shows a mathematically generated test model of bifurcating vessels which serendipitously formed heart shapes from various angles, rendered with computer graphics.
