The prostate is a small, walnut-sized gland located just below the bladder in men. It produces fluids that are important for reproduction. The prostate doubles in size during puberty and starts growing again at around age 25 and beyond, which can sometimes lead to urination problems as men get older. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. It can be tricky to detect early because it often affects only part of the prostate and doesn’t always show symptoms. In the artwork, cancerous tissues are shown on the left, coloured pink, and healthy tissues are on the right. Regular check-ups are especially important for men over 50 to stay healthy.
